Classic Masters [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]

"Classic Masters" is a greatest hits collection that starts with songs from 1978's "First Glance" album, which was hardly a first glance at April Wine, since they had a whole string of albums throughout the early and mid seventies. From the "First Glance" album, included here are the radio rocker "Roller", and "Get Ready For Love", both top notch songs...

Classic Rock Gold [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]

The term "classic rock" means different things to different people. In my mind, it's that decade from 1964 to about 1975. For others, it's the decade of the Fifties. In the liner notes of this compilation, the "golden age" of Classic Rock has been defined as the FM radio era beginning in 1968 and ending in 1987. They further define a Classic Rock song as "snatching the listener out of the humdrum here and now, and taking off..."

Classics

Don't get me wrong, I like Triumph. More specifically, I like Rick Emmet's vocals and guitar work. He's really pretty accomplished on the axe. However, this album has too much mediocre stuff with Gil Moore (the drummer/vocalist) as the singer - Tears in the Rain (fair), Spellbound (okay), I Live for the Weekend (lame), Follow Your Heart (okay) and Rock n Roll Machine (lame).

Private Eyes

Tommy Bolin was a musical genius and this CD is his crowning achievement. While his career was far too short the legacy he left behind for us to enjoy is in the music here and his other works. This is good stuff here people...let me repeat that...this is GOOD STUFF! I have yet to find any performer who can match his abilty to mix styles on one album and come away with a cohesive sound as Bolin does time and again, this recording included.

41 Original Hits From The Soundtrack Of American Graffiti [SOUNDTRACK]

For those of us who grew up in the '70s, this drive-in compilation of '50s and '60s rock and doo-wop, complete with Wolfman Jack introductions, was our introduction to this music. There are 41 jukebox hits here, and every one of them is a classic of its time (although two tracks--"At the Hop" and "She's so Fine" are covers by the revival band Flash Cadillac & the Continental Kids). In his 1973 movie, director George Lucas used the music (and the presence of mysterious deejay Wolfman) as the AM-radio soundtrack to one night in suburban California, 1962.

Classic Sinatra: His Greatest Performances 1953-1960 [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]

Few would dispute that Frank Sinatra was one of the greatest popular singers of the 20th century. His voice had distinct power and majesty, whether he was belting out a swinging dance number or softly crooning a tender ballad. When he was at his height, no one could touch him, and the songs collected on Classic Sinatra showcase the range of his talent.
